BATON ROUGE – LSU gymnastics head coach D-D Breaux and associate head coach Jay Clark were inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and USA Gymnastics Region 8 Hall of Fame respectively last weekend.

Clark is in his sixth year in Baton Rouge after more than 20 years at the University of Georgia as an assistant and head coach. Clark is regarded as the nation’s top recruiter and was named the ninth-best recruiter in all of collegiate athletics by ESPN the Magazine in 2011.

In addition to his duties as recruiting coordinator, Clark also assists in coaching every event for the Tigers with emphasis on uneven bars. Clark coached Sarah Finnegan to the first NCAA bars championship in school history and Lexie Priessman to the first SEC bars champion in more than 20 season. Overall, Clark has coached eight NCAA bars champions for the most in NCAA history on the event.

Breaux and Clark have combined with assistant coach Bob Moore and volunteer coach Ashleigh Clare-Kearney Thigpen to the best five-year stretch in school history. LSU gymnastics has overtaken the Baton Rouge community as the program set a new attendance record for a fifth-straight season. LSU averaged more than 10,000 fans to check in at No. 3 in the nation in 2017.
