Recruited as one of the hardest-throwing JUCO pitchers in the country, Kiel pitched at LSU in a limited relief role in 2017 ... flashed a fastball up to 97 mph to go along with a tight slider ... a member of the 2017 SEC Academic Honor Roll as a sport administration major ... selected in the 18th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox and signed with the club in the summer of '17.

2017 Season
Appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen, recording an 18.47 ERA with nine strikeouts and 13 walks in 6.1 innings ... worked 1.1 shutout innings versus Nicholls (Feb. 28), allowing no hits with no walks and three strikeouts ... recorded two strikeouts in one inning versus New Orleans (March 15).
