BATON ROUGE -- LSU forward Anthony Randolph earned Southeastern Conference freshman of the week honors for a fourth time Monday after helping the Tigers to victories at South Carolina and at home Sunday against Georgia.

Randolph had his eighth double double of the season in the 62-55 win over the Gamecocks in Columbia (Feb. 27) as the Dallas native had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Randolph hit 7-of-17 field goal attempts and all six free throw attempts in 34 minutes. Against Georgia Sunday, Randolph just missed hitting 20 for the ninth time this season to go with five rebounds in 32 minutes in the Tigers’ 71-64 win over the Bulldogs. Randolph hit 7-of-16 field goals and 5-of-7 free throws.

Randolph won the award earlier this year for his performance in November’s season opener against Southeastern Louisiana and twice more in SEC play after LSU’s wins at Auburn (Jan. 30) and at Florida (Feb. 13).

Randolph enters Wednesday’s 7 p.m. game with Alabama at the Maravich Center with an average of 14.9 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game and 2.3 blocks per game. In SEC play, Randolph is averaging 16.0 points and 9.3 rebounds a game.
