For the first time since 2012, and just the fourth time ever in program history, the No. 8 LSU softball team returns to softball's biggest stage on Thursday, opening play at the 2015 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium OGE Energy Field against the Auburn Tigers at 1:30 p.m. in Oklahoma City.

BATON ROUGE, La. The No 8 LSU softball team rode a four-run first en-route to scoring double-digits, while fending off multiple rallies by the No. 16 Arizona Wildcats in a 10-5 win to secure the program's fourth berth in the Women's College World Series which begins on Thursday in Oklahoma City.

In front of the largest crowd ever to witness a postseason game at Tiger Park in the first ever Baton Rouge Super Regional, the No. 8 LSU softball team wasted little time seizing the moment, scoring eight runs in the first three innings to roll to an 8-0 win over the No. 16 Arizona Wildcats in five innings Saturday afternoon in Tiger Park.

After a thrilling comeback that allowed the team to continue its record-breaking season, the No. 8 LSU softball team, seeded fifth overall, returns to Tiger Park for the final time in 2015 to host the No. 16 and 12th-seeded Arizona Wildcats in the 2015 Baton Rouge Super Regional beginning Saturday at 2 p.m. in Baton Rouge.
