Every collegiate baseball player dreams of stepping into the batter's box in Omaha, Nebraska. Last summer, senior first baseman Mason Katz was able to experience that feeling for the first time in his LSU career as a participant in the 2012 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Seven current and former members of the LSU baseball squad received their diplomas Friday in a special graduation ceremony held in the Champion's Club at Alex Box Stadium.

Skip Bertman received more compliments that he can remember during his remarkable career as LSU's baseball coach from 1984-2001. There is one, however, that Bertman recalls with ease.

Before the 1993 season, LSU head coach Skip Bertman ordered 40 T-shirts with the words "Wire to Wire" printed on them to give to his players. Bertman did this in response to three national polls pegging the Tigers the preseason No. 1 team in the country.
