BATON ROUGE – It was a memorable evening at the ol' ballpark Friday night at LSU, one that will go down in history as the night that legendary coach Skip Bertman's name was forever etched onto Alex Box Stadium.

Every collegiate baseball player dreams of stepping into the batter's box in Omaha, Nebraska. Last summer, senior first baseman Mason Katz was able to experience that feeling for the first time in his LSU career as a participant in the 2012 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- A two-run eighth-inning homer by senior leftfielder Raph Rhymes lifted No. 2 LSU (48-7, 23-6 SEC) to a thrilling 5-4 victory over No. 14 Ole Miss (35-20, 14-15 SEC) Friday night at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Seven current and former members of the LSU baseball squad received their diplomas Friday in a special graduation ceremony held in the Champion's Club at Alex Box Stadium.

Skip Bertman received more compliments that he can remember during his remarkable career as LSU's baseball coach from 1984-2001. There is one, however, that Bertman recalls with ease.
