Men's Tennis Seniors Named to All-Louisiana Team

BATON ROUGE --After being named to the All-SEC Second Team earlier this month, seniors Jordan Daigle and Justin Butsch were named to the 2017 LSWA All-Louisiana Men's Tennis First Team Sunday after compiling strong performances on the top two courts this season.

INDIANAPOLIS— For the second consecutive season, senior Jordan Daigle has been selected to represent the LSU men's tennis team in the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championships, and Justin Butsch will join Daigle for the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Doubles Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The LSU men's tennis team opened by winning the doubles point but was unable to maintain the momentum in singles and fell to No. 7 seed Arkansas, 4-2, Thursday afternoon at the Goodfriend Tennis Center. With the loss, LSU drops to 10-17 on the season while Arkansas improves the 16-11.

BATON ROUGE — After falling to Tennessee in heartbreaking fashion, 4-3, early Saturday, the LSU men's tennis team rebounded to defeat UNO, 4-0, Saturday evening at the LSU Tennis Complex. With the win, LSU improves to 10-15 on the season. UNO drops to 7-11 on the season.

BATON ROUGE — No. 41 Jordan Daigle and No. 71 Justin Butsch earned singles wins on courts one and two to give each senior a victory on Senior Day, but it was not enough as Tennessee clinched the 4-3 match Saturday afternoon at the LSU Tennis Complex. With the loss, LSU drops to 9-15 on the season and 3-9 in Southeastern Conference play. Tennessee improves to 12-13 overall and 3-9 in the league.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – No. 76 Justin Butsch and Gabor Csonka earned singles wins on courts two and three as the LSU men's tennis team fell to No. 18 Mississippi State, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Center. Mississippi State improved to 17-5 and 8-2 in Southeastern Conference play. With the loss, LSU's four-match win streak was snapped, and the Tigers fell to 9-15 on the season and 3-8 in the league.

AUBURN, Ala. – With possession of the doubles point and the 3-2 lead, No. 76 Justin Butsch pushed his match into a third set to drive past Carles Sarrio on court two, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and clinch the match for the Tigers as LSU defeated Auburn, 5-2, Friday afternoon at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. LSU improved to 9-14 overall and 3-7 in the SEC. With the loss, Auburn fell to 12-11 on the season and 3-6 in the league.

With the win, LSU improves to 6-14 and 2-7 in Southeastern Conference play while Ole Miss drops to 8-8 on the season and 3-6 in the league.
