BATON ROUGE - The LSU volleyball team had a trio of its matches picked up by television Wednesday as part of the SEC's unprecedented television contract. All in all, a total of 17 SEC volleyball matches will be televised by ESPNU, FSN, CSS and CST in 2010.
The Tigers won three of their four matches on television in 2009 highlighted by a pair of wins over Florida en route to the program's first SEC championship since 1991.
"Our program is always extremely excited and honored to represent LSU on the national stage," head coach Fran Flory said. "We're very grateful to have the opportunity to showcase our program to a national audience. All three matches promise to be exciting. We look forward to having ESPNU and CST back at the PMAC."
The start times of two of three matches have been moved to accommodate television. The defending SEC champions face off against Arkansas on October 13 and will be featured in primetime at 8 p.m. on ESPNU.
LSU's match at Ole Miss on October 15 has been moved up to a 6:30 p.m. first serve on FSN. CST will cover the Tigers' regular season home finale versus Florida on November 21.
Under Flory, LSU is one of only 20 programs to appear in each of the last five NCAA Tournaments. The Tigers open the 2010 season with Pacific, Siena and Texas A&M on August 27-28 as part of the Texas A&M Invitational.
Season tickets for the defending SEC champions are on-sale at www.LSUtix.net now starting at $40 for adults and $25 for youth ages 3-12. LSU has four matches scheduled against 2009 NCAA Tournament teams highlighted by Sweet 16 participants Florida and Kentucky at the Maravich Center.
