BATON ROUGE - Nearly half of LSU's 56 regular-season baseball games will be televised this year, as 27 games have been selected by national and regional networks.

Many of LSU's televised games are part of the new 15-year Southeastern Conference contract with ESPN that also includes ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN360.com, Fox Sports Net, SportSouth and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS).

LSU games will also be televised this season by Cox Sports Television and by the Jumbo Sports Network.

"I think it's a real tribute to our program and to SEC baseball overall that we have so much television exposure," said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. "I'm thrilled that our fans and the people who love college baseball will get so many opportunities to watch our games. We embrace what this can do for our program and for our sport."

Including potential postseason games, the Tigers could play on TV over 40 times in 2010.
