BATON ROUGE -- The LSU soccer team is flying high after receiving a No. 4 national seed in its third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, and the Tigers will enter the postseason ranked as high as No. 10 nationally in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll released Tuesday.

LSU (14-4-4) will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history and is set to take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the first round on Friday at 7 p.m. CT.

This marks the second time this season that the Tigers have earned a Top 10 national ranking as they were also ranked No. 9 in the Soccer Times Top 25 poll released on Oct. 6.

While climbing three spots to No. 10 in the wake of its runner-up finish in the SEC Tournament, LSU has earned its highest ranking in team history by the NSCAA. The Tigers are also up five spots into a tie for No. 11 in the latest Soccer Times Top 25 and up two spots to No. 14 in the latest Soccer America Top 25.

LSU has been a staple in the national rankings over the last two seasons as the club has been ranked in the Top 20 in at least one national poll in 18 weeks during that span, including seven weeks in a row entering NCAA Tournament play this weekend. Three of those weeks have been spent among the Top 10 teams in the country as the Tigers have been ranked as high as No. 9 nationally.

The Tigers are the three-time defending SEC Western Division champions and have earned their third at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament in as many seasons.
